I have what i think is a replacement motor on my 72 Charger SE. It's painted silver. I thought these were black. I'm going for the original look. What color were they from the factory? Thanks.

Black on My 72. Bought it unrestored 36 years ago.

With or without A/C?

With A/C. Is that silver in the pic?

Zinc plated originally on A/C cars, no paint that I've seen.
I have used a Stainless paint on my restorations.

Good to know.. Appreciate it. My '74 has that look. The one on the '72 is definitely painted though. The silver overspray was on part of the wiring harness.

well damn. maybe a supplier thing
probably. Althought My Charger was assembled in Venezuela ( With USA parts and just 15% of parts made locally ) not in USA and exported... but I have seen them black on cars assembled in USA too

btw....saw your quarter panel work on the 74....beautiful fit.

Those of you in the Cleveland area may appreciate this.
