After 45 years working as technical sales rep and new boss is a 35 year old woman who is clueless and no it all march30 last day at 65!
With the New Year I'll be 63, informed the Boss as of February I'm calling it a Day. 21yrs NYCPD & 13yrs Executive Protection in NYC. Applied for my SSI early. Not sure of everything yet, so day by day I go.
Hell is the impossibility of reasoning.I retired in June. Left LINY promptly. In 4 months time, I relocated to Florida. Like Pops, I worked the grave hard shift, 12:30-8:30 am for almost a straight 30 years out of my 33. My sleep patterns were so messed up then it continues as a semi nightmare.
However! Knowing I left that idiotic minded state behind, I’m much more relaxed and not half way to a depression with winter knocking on the door, morons and wacko government leaders rivaling the old mega corruption days.
Do some political homework on who’s who around that zoo! You’ll loose your mind and wonder how the heck they got into office. And who they hired on top of that!
The devil resides in New York with a smile. They call it normal.
For me, New York was good until it wasn’t.
It's all about wahmen now. After 45 years working as technical sales rep and new boss is a 35 year old woman who is clueless and no it all march30 last day at 65!

Not to be a Debbie downer, but be careful & stay safe these last couple of days! I found my mind wandering, thinking I only have 3 months, 2 months, 30 days etc. There are way too many stories of "he was set to retire " out there. Burn your sick days, PTO, or whatever you have if possible. The power of working & A reflection on retirement. I have worked long hours in all my previous professions, which has brought great enjoyment. And of late I have seen way too many friends, co workers pass on without the joys of retirement. My concerns of course are to be financially stable, Happy & not Bored in retirement.
Thought that was you. Confused me with the Florida tags!Congrats! I keep telling my old high school friend to retire from the NYPD before it’s to late!
I'll probably wake up as normal @4:30am for awhile.

Congrats,
Once you retire days go by like warp speed. Enjoy your freedom from the grind.
Congratulations Pops!
Plan on staying up there with "the chosen" or do you have your heart set on warmer climes?
Just food for thought, Make sure you're covered with Health Insurance to bridge from 63 to 65 when Medicare kicks in. To buy good Health Insurance can run $1200-$2500 per month.
