New Member in St. Louis, MO

Welcome! Great that you're still running the family car! Thinking out loud.. isn't the 337 a standard port intake? Haven't dealt with those much.

The 337 is a 4150 flange single plane for RB engines with Max wedge sized ports and a cast-in valley pan. (I don't need the cast-in valley pan, and the ports are actually a little small out of the box, but I can open them up easily, and it's ideal for hood clearance.) I thought I had a line on one earlier this week when another new member contacted me through this site saying to contact so and so, but I have not been able to seal the deal yet. Anyone near Grenada, MS? That's where the intake is supposed to be at. If it's OK, I'll make a separate posting asking if any of the members are in that area that could check it out for me.

Welcome.
Sweet 64. I did the Mopar Monster show there for 10 years. St. Louis is a cool town. Do you know Al Wilson?

I know who Al Wilson is. He actually lives a few miles from me, but cannot recall the last time I saw him at a car gathering.

Ahh I see. I've used the stage6 4150 one on a buddy's 70 charger. We milled about 1/2" off the carb flange for hood clearance.

Welcome from Missouri!! Very nice!! I believe I went to a gathering at the church at big bend and 141, probably two summers ago when I moved to Ballwin and you had the 64 and a white Cuda, blue top. I went to look at the cars and they asked me to show my car, didn't really have the time so they asked me to pull on down by the end of the roll next to you while I was looking around. It seems that I remember the comment about original paint except for the fenders and hood and the blue top Cuda!!

Welcome!!! Was your Cuda in Mopar Collectors Guide article? I remember reading an article on one in St. Louis with the blue top. CO CARDS!!!

Welcome to fbbo, from the "Great White North " ,it's a great place to hang out, I love your 64 !! Very Nice, especially the pic of the blacked out lower rear quarters , when you were in conversation at the strip !! LOL

Yes. I remember speaking to you. With the exception of the Easter Show, we normally do not enter in car shows, but Dad insists on going to that one every year since he lives about a mile away, and it's for charity.

@MaxWedge-Savoy DONT! ITS A SCAM! Any time around here a new member sends someone to "a friend who has one" it's an attempted theft. After a few hundred posts or so, maybe different.

Yes it was. They got some things wrong in the story, but that's typical for a magazine. Same thing happened when they did an article on the 'Garage Sale Hemi Duster' in 2012. Even so, it was an honor to have the Barracuda featured, and I was very happy they included the blurb about my parents and my brother. (The 64 and my parents even had a pic in the article.)

You are correct. It was a scam. I had suspicions all along, but a quick Google search last night proved it to be correct. The person cut and paste the verbiage from a 2014 ad on the For A-bodies Only website into their email to me, and even used the same image of the intake from that 2014 ad. When the email conversation became more and more suspicious, I questioned the new user on how he knew the 'seller', the response was strangely similar to the writing style of the 'seller' I had been emailing back and forth. (Poor grammar to put it bluntly.)

With the 337 intake being so hard to find, I was willing to follow any leads, but glad I did some research ahead of time. If it is acceptable to post who I was conversing with to prevent any future potential theft, I can do so.

That's Hey-O's car. I believe he has posted that it is not an original color. I don't remember what he said it was.
PM to Hey-O?
It was originally a white car when it was restored in 2005 and in 2016 it was taken apart again and painted 2009 to 2012 Subaru ruby red.

Ok. I'll watch for a Suby of that era so I can see the big paint chip. The last time DennisH came by with his Kitty, he was parked close enough for me to do an eyeball comparison of the Delmonico? red of his car compared to the Ruby on mine that still exists. Pretty close.

Nice 64 too

welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

good luck with the manifold quest
