Team,

I've seen a few posts on this with some interesting opinions, including:

Bondo filler
Upholstery strips/layers
PVC strips
fan belts ect

What material do you think best for all the strips?

the guy who installed the top, used a hot glue gun to apply a thin bead along the frame holding the tack strip. He said you didn't need it, but he installs it anways and he said he has never had a complaint after installing a top. I checked out 6 cars he had done, 2 were over ten years old when he installed the tops. Still looked perfect. He did a fantastic job installing everything. A few days in the hot summer heat and the top had no wrinkles and you could bounce a quarter off it!!!
 
That was what my plan was , just get the top guy to put some in. Standard part of the trade, I thought.
