About a '66 Charger with a cammed 413 ? A guy near me has one he might sell.
413 good or bad ? Body is unrestored, but is in decent shape, runs, drives, stops, interior is ok.
Fair price to start negotions ? Where to walk away ? I do not have any knowledge of these particular cars

What say you braintrust ?

Nothing wrong with a 413, solid engine available in many forms. The choice is yours!

Check out all the trim. Not so easy to pick up.

For some reason they don't sell very well.
I saw the one you're interested in.

It was either a 318 or 361 car originally.
Body appears to be in good to very good condition.
The seats are from a 67 and appear to be 2 different colours.
I don't think the 413 adds much value. Some but not a whole lot for myself.
It likely needs a bunch of maintenance but that is pretty easy and fun.
Without looking at it personally I would say 10-12 k.
But as you know Don is frugal. ( Dutch)
It's a terrible time of year to sell a car.
He tried to sell it late summer if I recall. Didn't fly off the shelf then either.
Where are you going to put it?

A 413 has the same stroke as a 440. If it is a early 60’s car version it has (Or once had) a good compression ratio. If a motorhome engine then less compression. How does it run,

In a mild form a 413 is equal to a 440 in my book.

I like 1st gen Chargers, mabey post some pictures of this one.
JMHO but one of the best looking cars on this sight is a 66 Charger, member Gpuller has it.
Prices are all over the place on them.
413 is good.
More info and pics please.

It is unfortunate that they don't generate anywhere near the interest the next generation Chargers do. I still remember what an impact they had when first introduced. I was sure enthralled with them, as was my Dad.

To repeat previous posts regarding the engine, there's no reason to balk at a 413. Plenty of torque, good thick cylinder walls and just plain solid engines that can perform very well.

413 good or bad

Let me put it this way.... Nothing at all wrong with a 413, but if you should worry about problems down the road, there's nothing there that a spare 440 block and pistons can't fix right up for you!! The worry for a 413 is the lack of pistons really.... nothing else wrong with them, and all other parts are the same in a 426 wedge and a 440. HTH, Lefty71

value is a tough one

Hard to put a price on something unseen, unknown

*does the dash work ? not cheap to fix or find
*do the brakes work ?
*does it even run/start & drive, safely ?
*how's the wheels & tires ?
*how long has (IF) it been parked/sitting/not running ?
*how's the paint ?
*how's the interior ?
*how's all the trim, gril, taillights, glass etc. ?
*is it all there ?
*does it have a title ?
*all the lil' **** can/will add up extremely fast, hard to find &
especially on a car that's not real high in value, to begin with

you could deduct another up-to maybe -5% value for each *

(I like the 66-67 Chargers, especially in a day 2 style)

according to www.NADAguide.com
value is for an org. 365hp 440/TF equipped 66 car below
since that was a 318-361 car it will be lower or the scale
we don't know the options or real condition etc.,
but for a reference, somewhere to start, one with a std. 440/TF

$13,800 #3 driver 'rough like a 20 ftr',
running & driving

$29,040 #2 driver decent condition,
decent paint, interior, trim etc.
a 10 ftr' no show car, but it's driveable/safe

$46,560 #1 driver quality org. near perfect, for the age
5 ftr' with good paint, trim, glass, interior, engine, no electrical gremlins etc.

I'd say by them stds, values if it doesn't run & drive
or has non #s/OE parts/engine etc.
(not to discredit the 413cid at all, other than a small-bore has some
intake valve shrouding issues, when doing any head or cam mods

but if not racing or trying to make big power, it's not a big/huge deal)
I'd still take 20% off the low price at least
so maybe $10,000 - $11,000

not knowing the car or seeing photos, it's all a wild *** guess
going by others assessments of the car previously

good luck

Start low and end it just before the price that the wife divorces you for it. lol

See if David wants to join you.
He can quickly find and point out everything that's wrong with it.
A really keen eye.

my buddy has a rolled 67,hasnt touched it in years, roof is crushed but it was a bb car and currently has a 383 rebuilt with built trans, rear and restored interior including the dash that he worked on for a long time.
color is copper/ext copper interior, car has sat inside storage longer than the cost of buying and fixing it,so he might be ready to let it go,if thats something you can use.

I have misplaced his phone number, dammit ! I have been tearing the house apart trying to find it.

Most definitely will take David along ! I just need to be able to contact the seller.

This is a tough call from the cuff. 413? That has many implications. Starting with which 413? A '62 Super Stock MW 413? Or an even earlier cross rammed letter car 413? That would certainly have value of its own. Or is it a motor home 413 (that I believe was continued into early 70s?)

I think you have some research before considering a price. JMO.

I'm trying to figure out how they sealed up a regular intake to the max wedge ports.
