71 Charger tail light removal?!

How do I get the tail lights out of the bumper of the 71 Charger. I can get the lower bolts out, but how do I get to the one on top of the housing? Do I need to take the valance and/or the bumper off as well?

Yep, have to pull the bumper to get the housings out.

its only 6 bolts and two nuts and then detach your wiring harness and your bumper comes out.

I know it's only a few bolts to pull it, but I just painted the car 2 days ago. I want the paint to harden up some more before I go messing with it.

I have been able to remove my tail lights without remove the bumper. Sure is tricky.

But I guess 73/74 are easier because the bumper filler allows some play And room to remove top tail light screws
