For the man who has everything

I know a guy who bought one of the first units. He let me ride it. Kinda neat, those big pistons made themselves known.
Last I knew he had it inside his house.

There was a dealership in Henderson Nevada that sold those.Long Gone now.
Price sounds about right.

I had some visibility through business connections when these folks got started up. It was an exciting time and everyone was pulling for them.

Then noticed it seemed like they were spending money like there was no tomorrow. Just the paint line was extremely fancy. I forget what the tab was for that. Lots of automation, much more that I'd have ever thought necessary. Certainly not justified based on anticipated production volumes. I kept thinking the money should be better spent, or at least more cautiously until they were a bit more established. Even at that time it was already apparent motorcycle ridership was not growing like it had been in previous decades. It wasn't long before they were in trouble. Sad to see them fold.

Sad to see them fold.
Agree. They were well made. Way better than the California Gilroy Indian. I fell for the looks of the Indian.
Bought one in 2000. The worst motorcycle I ever owned. The most expensive too.If I would have bought the Excelsior I may still own it today.

Nope, E-H designed 1385 cc DOHC, FI 4 valve, based on a design by Weslake.
