Got my 71 Charger hidden headlight grille cleaned up.

They all look great! These things are tedious to redo without spending big bucks. I used jewelers files on the ribs to knock down the pits then cleaned them out with a pick. Polished the rib faces then masked with 1/4" masking tape and trimmed with a razor. Epoxy prime, lightly fill the pits and sand them out then used Trim black to finish. Went with the original textured argent on mine. Not perfect but respectable I think.

Looks great. Can't imagine having to do the pot metal repair you did.

Restored my taillights and rear bumper just before I did the front.Used glass in the cabinet blaster and painted satin black for my 72.

Looks great. Satin Black contrasts nicely with the chrome and red.

Got the piece that goes below the license plate prepped and the silver done on it.

I prepared the taillight bezels yesterday and got the silver sprayed on them. I am going to reverse mask them the opposite of the way the factory did. Where there was argent will be black and where there was black will be silver. I am letting them dry really well before I start masking them off.

Are you planning on keeping your original grills?

They will probably be for sale. I bought the car last year, but I haven't seen the car in person yet. My friend picked up the car,and stored it for the winter. So I cannot give you a description until I pick up the car.

No problem. If you remember, please hit me up when the grilles become available.

thanks

".....all this little stuff takes time..." TRUTH!

More taillight pictures. I found two nicely polished rear taillight lenses I forgot I had up in my loft.

I scuffed up the housings and painted them with rustoleum chrome paint to improve the reflective effect of the bulbs. I am missing the screws that screw the bezels to the housings, so I need to take one out of the taillight assembly of my other 71 Charger R/T so I can get new screws for them.

Went and got all new screws and bulbs for the lights. I painted the screws silver to match the paint on the bezels.

They are 1 5/8 screws from the factory. I bought 1 1/2 inch ones. They worked fine in all but two of the holes that were stripped. 8.32 thread.
