Summer is almost here...June 21st is the date I recall as being the first official day of Summer.
Here in California, it does get hot Not humid but pretty hot nonetheless. It is common to see 25-30 days at or above 98 through the late days of Summer.
Out in the NON Air Conditioned shop, I do have fans running but when I'm moving around, I still work up a sweat.
A few years ago I started stocking the shelf with spare shirts. Sometimes I walk to the house for 20-30 minutes to cool down inside.
What do you do to cool off when working in the shop?

Kd, yep I feel your pain was 115 today and 91 in the night. I work with fans also but not much help. So like the guys but east when they shutdown for the winter. I mostly shutdown for the summer. My job in the summer is collecting parts for the winter. Good luck

My garage is 30x30 and this 28,000 btu wall unit keeps it frosty when it’s well into the 90,s outside, but it’s well insulated for the -20 or worse winters when the furnace is on.

There have been days where I change my shirt 4-5 times in an 8 hour period. The fresh, dry shirt feels so good!

It was about 74 degrees here today.
Perfect weather

I guzzle water. Lots of water. I have a couple of fans.

Currently (as in right now, 6:15 p.m.) its115 in the shade on the back porch. I don't have a thermometer in the shop. Not much gets done. The dogs still demand ball chasing anyway.

I started with building this...

Then I added a 3.5 ton version of this that I picked up used for cheap....

I still need to finish the ducting but I'm hoping it'll be enough to knock the worst of the heat down...

Greg, get ya a portable ac that you can move around to have blowing cold air on ya. I’ve got one, it’s got a remote too!

I've got a wall unit a/c for the garage, but it's not installed yet. Got a couple roll-around big swamp coolers that help for now.

Red x really

The unit I picked up was nine years old, it quit working & the guy had his son's buddy who works on A/C look at it... The guy told him the whole unit was out dated & it would need to be replaced... He ponied up for a new unit & the A/C still didn't work... He got a professional involved. turned out the thermostat was bad.... I picked the unit up for $200....

I've spent some money on ducting, electrical & various other stuff..
Plus I paid a guy with a crane to put the unit on the roof... 400 lbs 20 feet in the air, I didn't feel like I was gonna carry it up a ladder...
I'm sure I'll have a little over $1000 in it when I'm done.. But I'll be able to work on the really ugly days...

Even though our Winters are mild, I lose motivation when it is 45 or below. Cloudy days make me want to lay on the couch too.

Thats the cool thing about the unit I picked up, it's a heat pump so it heats and cools... I'll try to use just the fan mostly but if it's to hot or to cold & I have something I want to get done it'll be nice to flip a switch & make it happen... Oh, I got a blue tooth thermostat too, so I can see what the temperature is in the shop before I leave the house & turn the A/C on before I head to the shop..... or more importantly, turn the system off from at home if I forget to shut it down when I leave....

I installed a split system for air conditioning. I was already running a dehumidifier in their anyway. Here in Western NY humidity is a problem in the summer.

Summer is here in the high desert too.
