Bendix master cylinder on a 1971

That is the OEM style master cylinder for 67-70 drum brake Mopars.
Will it fit and function on your ‘71? Most likely yes.
But why not find a correct style ‘71-74 drum brake master cylinder instead? Off the top of my head I believe they were 1-1/32” bore.

My 71 style master cylinder leaks a little around the cap no big deal i just wipe it down once a month. People have said to me it’s normal to leak a little bad design . Thinking the old style with the bolt holding the lid may seal better. Not gonna change it unless its really bad.

That is a common problem. Perhaps you can find a new seal for the mc lid you have?
Clean up the top surface of the MC casting too.
Sadly I just looked online to find the correct MC to recommend to you and don’t find it. I see the disc MC but no all drum. It must be discontinued.
I used to work for the company that made Raybestos until I got laid off in 2005. Nowadays I look back and am bummed about how many parts and rebuild kits for our vintage cars I saw in our catalog when I was there but now are no longer available. How are we going to keep our cars on the road if no service parts like brakes are available?

Yeah I looked too. Rockauto shows mc’s that look like they’re made for power disc brakes they say they work manual drum brakes too but I wouldn’t trust them. I guess we gotta look for parts Swaps meets, junkyards or just have them rebuilt is kits.

According to my parts book, 71/72 drum brake cars got 1 1/32" bore. And they show them all as the bail clip style
Manual disc brake cars used 1" bore while power disc used 1 1/32"
