Had a great time at the track last weekend. No wins but a nice time slip.

This season I’ve been working on me and it’s showing up on the reaction times.

A second round shot on the 20th and last one of the day unfortunately, due to yours truly. I dialled back due to bad air, ended up breaking out.
The bad part of this is that my opponent had a second head start on me. He launched and a few feet out he broke. Car dropped and there he sat. I checked my mirror he was motionless. I was going to run it to the 1000’ but then decided to run it out for a next round dial. On the return road who do I see coming putzing down the track…. I broke out and he took the stripe at a snails pace. Never too old to learn over here and I’ll never do that again.
To make matters worse the same guy won the next round the exact same way.
Regardless, things are coming around nicely in my Mopar camp.

This picture was 3 weeks ago. Old Gold was running 10.01’s, steel hood and all. Not much room left. 10.00 is the limit.

Frame that one. Well done! Cool car as well. Love the license plate!

Very nice on the trip zip!

I won the wally once due to the same race. I didn't make it 60 feet and the other guy ran a few thou under on a hail Mary pass. My slip showed a 42 sec at 2.2mph..
From the tow truck coming to get me.

Always shut her down!

Well done that reaction time. We all do smart by half things. Haven't seen you post much about the Dart, did I miss it? Any track time with it?

Never seen that happen before. Won’t happen again. This guy took the stripe at 19mph!

Hey Fran! Haven’t ran the Dart all summer. The new starter that was on it started making ugly noises. I didn’t want to knock a ring gear tooth off so it’s been idle. But I got at it yesterday. A new MSD starter went into place this morning and it spins that alloy hemi over like a song.

Those are lessons we hope we only have to learn once. The 1000ft data is good enough for dialing. Good to see you’re out there having fun and being competitive!

A new MSD starter
I know lots of people will say the mini starters are basically the same, or made by one or two manufacturers and given different paint and stickers,
BUT
I put a MSD starter on my 440 and it's been flawless!

Now this was a surprise. I opened my mailbox today and found a 2023 calendar that was sent to me. It was from a nice gentleman who was taking pictures at the Gimli Manitoba track last fall. I’m flipping through and came upon my 64 in action. First one of these too. Now THAT’s Cool Eh.
