Isn't the one in the trunk along with the heater core correct for it. I was told it was Bill...cr8crshr/Bill

Bill the one in the trunk of the yellow car is non air.
This valve is for factory air cars only.
I bought an nos one yesterday

Nope. this is for the Coronet . It never fully closes off and now leaks so the air never gets as cold as it should.
If the yellow gets air. It will be aftermarket vintage air or the like
I guess the one in my GTX is functioning well. When I rebuilt it almost 20 years ago I could get 40 deg with a digital, probe thermometer in the dash vents. Still blows very, very cold. the weakness in mine is the little linkage that trips the resister/fan motor on to a higher fan speed when set on max air/recirculate - I think mine has gotten out of adjustment again. Regular, high speed fan blows hard enough to keep the car fairly cool from the garage on a hot day, but not enough to cool it down with any speed if it’s set out in a parking lot awhile.

I didnt have a thermometer in it.
But on the drive home last week Im guessing it was lower/mid 50s maybe on a mid 80s ambient temps day.
And I have the heater core bypassed right now due to the water valve never closes off coolant flow to the core

Im putting all the under dash plumbing back in today.
With ambient temps in the garage at low 90s
This is with idle bumped up to keep coolant flowing.
Engine temps were right at mid 180s.
Center outlet temps got to low 40s.
I have my doubts it will get that cold outside driving down the road on sunny 100 degree days.
But...wow
