Question: Is a build sheet always to be found under the rear seat?

Is this really a thing? Did they ALWAYS put a build sheet under the rear seat?

No, mine was on the back of the rear seat back, under the springs.

Or, in the case of RC's Hemi car, sandwiched between the seat belt anchor and the carpet.

Here's the remnants of it on my '66 .....

I found one in the rear seat back and under the carpet on the driver's side. Haven't checked under the front seat bottom or above the glove box.

If that's part of a build sheet, predelivery inspection (PDI) wasn't up to par at the dealership, and no one really cleaned the car good in all this time. I can understand why one wouldn't remove it today or for the last 10-20 years, but just saying.

My '70 Charger (XP29N0G) had two under the rear seat springs (1 for my car and 1 for a different car) and remnants under each bucket seat. I didn't find one under the carpet, nor did I find one on top of the glovebox. I haven't looked elsewhere under the dash and I haven't yet replaced the headliner.

My headliner material looks nice, but the stitching between the panels is falling apart.

The original owner sold the car in 1973and the second owner owned it until I bought it last November. I can't imagine why either owner never tore the rest of it out.
