Broke my 7UP Pop Machine today....

thought this was only about your vending machine, which sucks on it's own; but the damage to car really sucks..... on a modern pos, that hinge pillar would be bent, let's hope that isn't the case here

accidents do happen...... I parked my amx (4 speed) in the back yard and walked away.....it rolled down hill and crashed into my shed

A pillar looks fine, lower hinge mount on the door itself looks pulled out somewhat compared to my Bee beside it. Hoping a new door shell and a new lower hinge + paint and a "bit" of re and re from old to new. Also need a new 32230 slider mylar and H pins for the door glass as they look to be toast after the door glass taking out the pop machine glass.

SO SO SO Pissed off that I broke my 7UP pop machine today and I'm very fortunate that it appears my arm isn't broken, but it sure is battered. As for the rolling stomach want to puke feeling, I guess there's always Hagerty Classic Car Insurance!

Car dropped into reverse just as I stepped out to make sure she was far enough in to close the overhead door... like I've done a 100 times before. Pinned me hard to the 7UP machine as the door folded back and I was lucky that with the other arm I was able to rock the car forward enough to release my pinched arm and turn off the car.

Mint 57,000 mile door is fawked, skin and shell. Glass doesn't go up or down and is jammed, hinges are bent.. etc.. etc. Only good, it didn't ding or even paint chip the fender... although with today's paint selection a paint match for just the door is just a dream.

I'm amazed the door glass didn't break, jammed right into my pop machine enough to break the plexiglass and destroy the lamp ballast module and it's mount housing behind same.

I need a mint door and hinges for replacement or I guess an AMD complete shell. I've been told they're actually pretty good other than needing some minor gap correction to fender and upper cowl profiles. Told the internals for glass, latch, lock etc all fit quite well. Oh... and one of those "bogus" ECS VIN Decals to boot.

I am so sorry to hear...

That could have been a LOT worse.
Agreed, if I hadn't put everything I had into pushing the car forward and extracting my arm to turn the car off I'd still be there... home alone when it happened.

I'm still amazed it didn't even chip the paint on the fender though..

Try to use your old H pins if you have to buy reproduction . Nigel should have those available.

I guess you missed the work TOAST in there Ian ! Well versed in H pins and slider mylars as I was working on forming them myself back when they went out of stock. CANPAR just dropped my box from Nig 10 minutes ago

Sorry, yes I missed toast. Don’t know if if I knew you were working on the H pins at one time. Glad you got the goods.

I tore my left bicep muscle off my elbow pushing a soccer Mom out of a snow bank on my way to the restoration shop to check on my Bee.
How big was that woman?

Guess I didn't shove it hard enough before jumping out quickly to check if the car was in enough.

All this could have been avoided! Why don't you have a parking curb so that you can pull in without having to worry about doing stupid **** like this? I guess some simple logic doesn't apply to people that think they know better?

Aren't you a ray of ******* sunshine today Jon! I have 5 bays... cars move from bay to bay, 4 different wheel bases and they all park at different parking depths.

I just read through this, Wow! Sorry to hear of the accident. That Super Bird is beautiful, I'm sure it will be standing tall soon.
I'm sure you are in some pain - both physically and emotionally - but at least your arm should heal OK!

Just seeing this now. So sorry to hear about your arm and that beautiful car. I dont know which would feel worse if i was in your shoes that day.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and a large check from insurance.
