Hopefully someone has a similar experience, doesn't need to be the exact same model.
I closed the door on my 68 Super Bee, it didn't want to latch so I closed it a little harder and it latched. Now, knowing the the two remaining screws holding the latch mechanism in the door were loose and hadn't been taken care of (by my son who faithfully commited to fix that issue while he had the car). I figured it was it was time to replace the missing screw and tighten the other two.
Since that fatefull closing the door will not open the outside nor inside. This may have something to do with the loose screws(?) Opened up the door to check it out:
1) key lock cyl works fine from the outside
2) lock button inside will only go down half way, but will unlock all the way.
3) Lock button only going down half way may suggest the latch is jammed or stuck partially open
3) inside door handle works as in the door were still locked, remember in 68 the inside door handle would not override a locked door
4) linkage from outside push buttun is intact, springs back when pushed in, but no resistance other than that
5) nothing I can get to and push or move will unlatch the door
At a loss for next move.

Thanks in advance

Push IN on the door firmly to see if the latch turns slightly, then open normally? Otherwise, I think you’ll need some type of “slim jim” to open the lock like a 1970’s car thief

Thanks for the reply, lock isn't the problem. It will unlock all the way, don't need a slim jim, inner door panel is opened up.

was the door "hanging" a bit before this? (worn hinge)........ have you tried lifting the door up (maybe prying up carefully off the rocker) while giving it a good yank? (or a good shot from the inside)

The latch receiver on the door jamb is likely adjusted too far in, jamming up the rotating door latch. It has nothing to do with the lock mechanism. Your only hope is trying to force the door more closed, while holding the door button in.

The screws came loose on my 69 Coronet and luckily we're replacing the quarters and were able to drill it out from the backside. Not what you want to hear probably.

Thanks for the response. The latch receiver hasn't been moved.

Thanks for the response. The issue appears to be with the latch itself not releasing completely. Trying to manuplate it with a screwdriver while holding the light is a PITA, trying a better light today.
