Very common scam right now. Their goal is to get people to call the phone number highlighted/bold/red etc. and then get account info. They can range from pay-pal to geek squad renewals.

Well from his voice he was either a push start or pull start. Pull start eg. shown

I used to get PayPal bs emails regularly. I recently closed both PayPAl and Venmo because they’re tied together and then there was the deal a month or two a go where they were going to start fining their customers $2,500 for any statements that didn’t line up with their particular views. In other words you’re were being censored and fined for not saying things - You know what I mean. People and the stock market took heavy notice and their stock dropped like a rock as 100’s of thousands of “We the People“ dumped our accounts. They backed down saying it was an unintentional error in their statement. Let me tell you those corporate releases - word for word and punctuation are scanned by a team of lawyers before they even leave the building. I spent 35 yrs with two of the largest insurance carriers in the country and was involved with stuff like that. I guarantee I know the inside workings. I closed both my PayPal and Venmo accounts they next day. Those companies aren’t to be trusted. Period.

They nixed that policy and rightfully so after the backlash they received over it.

Back in October I went to Carlisle and inadvertantly left the "roaming" on on my phone. I subsequently got an bill for around $80.. Last week I got a txt on my phone saying there had been a system glitch and an erroneous roaming charge of (approximately) $80. on my October bill. To get the refund log into online banking. I started to do that and then two things hit me 1) why wouldn't they just credit my cell account and 2) The company giving the refund was Telus/Koodo which didn't click at first until it occurred to me that I had switched from Telus to Bell in August.

On many occasions I've received scam emails supposedly from Paypal. But often if you look more closely its spelled Paypai .You can also look at the email address and guaranteed it won't be from [email protected]

Paypal doesn't work like that.

Ignore.

Wouldn't it be a boon for criminals everywhere if they could simply "request money" and automatically get it if there was no response?

I use PayPal quite a bit. Especially when I have a question about the company I’m buying from. Two times I made the purchase, didn’t receive the product. Contacted PayPal, they did what they do, received the refund, no hassle.

Did paypal actual end that policy? I canceled mine, had it for about 20yrs. I’m not going back to them even if they did cancel it. Just the fact that they thought it was ok to do to begin with does not sit right with me.

That was exactly my sentiment bro - The point of my earlier thread was - They fully intended to do it or there was no way in God”s green earth that sentence would have EVER accidentally landed in a corporate release without having been multiple times fully vetted by a team of their lawyers. PayPal just got caught in their own **** storm and tried to talk their way back out of it. I can guarantee it. Completely UnAmerican!

I emailed them and told them i'd think about keeping my account open if they paid me a $2500 fine for being ********. Shocker. They didn't pay and my account is now closed.

What if you didn't have $2500 to cover your fine. Put a lien on your property? Who ever thought of that and let it out should have their head examined!
