I've wondered lately about the people in the entertainment industry and their need to stay young looking.
Some that get plastic surgery seem to look great, as if they didn't have any work done at all. It is like good bodywork: The good work looks as if nothing was ever done.
The other ones though.....

We all have looked at this one and rolled our eyes....

This guy seemed fine until he went under the knife...

American Idol or American surgery gone wrong?

......AND then there is this scallywag:

What the hell is with these people? They HAVE the money to do it right. What the hell happened? They all look terrible.
I wonder if they figured that a subtle change wasn't enough.
Mickey Rourke....I read that his face was messed up from boxing and that no amount of talented surgery could reverse it completely.
Joan Rivers....Pfft...she wasn't that bad as a young woman so why the radical changes?
Kenny Rogers looked the part of a gentle cowboy. Why then change to ....that?
Simon Cowell....WTF ? The guy has more money than the Federal Reserve so THIS is what he does to himself?
Madonna? THIS is an improvement over what she looked like before?

Early in my career, I got an inside look at how this stuff works, first as a writer for a medical newspaper group, and later during my law school days and later seminars on medical malpractice issues. Sculpting human flesh has all the issues of good metal and paint work, increased exponentially by variables of human tissue. With increasing age, the healing process becomes more iffy, and this is where the Hollywood folks get on the wrong side of it. The clock can be turned back fairly consistently by a good surgeon working with middle aged flesh, but it gets really difficult at the ages many celebrities are still chasing a youthful look.

I look at these disasters and wonder if they just took it too far.....like they figured that by doing something subtle wasn't enough so they went further.
These people must have some regrets about the results.
Body self image is a strange thing though. We often see ourselves in a different way than others see us. Maybe these people think that they look fine?

The smart ones - (I know that sounds like an oxymoron) just do the little nip and tucks earlier rather than later and along the way. Doing it that way they don't end up like the horror shows above…… But then again are there any smart ones ….? That’s rhetorical…..

Price shopping gone wrong?
Actually it's funny but I was just telling my wife the other night that I'm happy to not have more money than we do, believe it or not sometimes it's better not to have the extra funds and be tempted to do some of this stupid stuff.

They are all prime examples of more money than brains...

I also think it's sort of an addiction once they start doing the procedures...

Very, very few 'that seemed to have the facial stuff done'
look any better, most all of them, IMO looked botched,
unless maybe (?) that's what they were going for:poke:
(look at the narcissists class of people, that do that ****, serves them right)

unless;
they were in an accident, attacked or a burn victim
or something like big scares from a car wreck etc.
Like C&W artist Carey Underwood... she looked pretty good after

Look at poor Marlo Thomas. She was quite the hottie, especially back in the "That Girl" days. Saw her recently on TV, and have to wonder if she had to have surgery after a bad accident. Wow, just google images of her then VS now....

She still doesn't look to bad for 85!! Maybe she would have looked better without the modifications or not....if she had any. Dang, didn't know she was that old....

Ann Margaret in the late 60s, got good work done. She knew when to back off. One of the greats.

Maybe they spend too much time around fellow wannabe young again/relevant/gotta have my picture in the magazine types. Also too easily influenced by their own kind or what the read/see in the media.
