I visited Dubai and Abu Dabi, very many times. I tuned cars twice there in Abu Dabi. The people are polite and accomodating for the most part, HOWEVER, you are a FOREIGNER, and have zero rights but what they give you and they aren't shy about reminding you of that. Of the millions living there, just 20% or so are actually emerates citizens. The rest are foreigners. Our ACLU has ruined our country and spoiled our citizens into thinking they have American rights anywhere they go and we are somehow privelaged in this foreign country. We aren't. She found out. I also hate 'influencers' as wtf do they influence? Weak minded people? Anyway, beautiful country UAE, but do yourself a favor and just stay in Dubai where alcohol is legal. But it should be on anyone's bucket list if you like to travel.
I still remember the baggage inspector, a woman, her eyes when she opened my footlocker and saw my body armor. Lol. She started going on in arabic and one of the uniformed guys looked at my ID and my passport, closed the lid and said welcome to Dubai and then quietly spoke to the woman in Arabic, who was not happy about it at all. Lol. Sorry, I digress.
