I bought a new S140 a couple of years ago. First, I got a quote from my local JD dealer on both the mower, and the bagging system. This was in April, and said he could not get that model until July. I asked him for a quote on a hay baler as well. He did not think this was nearly as funny as I did.
We travelled about 20 minutes into London to a Lowes store. They had this model on display, and on sale. Their price, taxes included, was so much lower than the JD store, that the bagger was practically free. The girl in the Garden Dept. said they would have to order one, and it might take a month to get. I countered by saying I would buy their floor demo. When she said I could not do that, I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager appeared, I asked if he would sell me the mower and bagger, or miss out on a $3,000 sale. I mentioned that it did not make much sense to have a demo of a model they did not have available, anyway. It was delivered the next day.
Does yours have the Easy Oil Change system, where you just remove the filter canister containing most of the used oil and recycle it? About an $80.00 kick in the sack up here!
