I've been very fortunate to have travelled quite a bit throughout this awesome country . It took me awhile to truly appreciate the midwest . We are a hardy trusting bunch of folks

If I didn’t have kids with grandkids living so close by, I’d think about getting the hell out of Massachusetts and moving to TN or the Carolinas.
I'm telling you I live a pretty good life here in Missouri.

Mass, Northern NJ, CT, Eastern PA IS New York too, UNFORTUNATELY!! Saratoga, Finger Lakes, Corning SSSOOO not NYC!!!
Left the northeast for South Carolina 9 years ago. Life is good and wayyyy cheaper!

I've been to San Antonio in the middle of the summer when it was 103 in the daytime and 90's at night. No thanks.

Guess our secret is out.....darn it.
No secret, I've rented cabins a few miles from Gatlinburg in the mountains for Christmas for my of family of 12 several times. I've done summers also. Great place, great people, great distilleries, and I'm famous for my ability to shop till I drop. Buy one, Get Two Free boots in Pigeon Forge.

Yeah, it's great for tourists with fat pockets for sure...
We tend to stay away from that region though. It's so dang crowded!
I’ll admit Tennessee is my favorite state Ed, but I will say my friends across the river do like Missouri a lot and always try to talk me into it. St Louis is rough but you can see thru the cracks and still it’s a beauty. I love to go downtown and drive thru the city and admire the architecture when she was in her prime she was something and still has a lot of potential.. still lots of good folks too and tons of good food.
As long as you stay in the midwest, things are good. @F4R/T. I've spent a LOT of time in Illinois. The family had folks with farms in the Highland area. Springfield is fun and rich with history and the Amish in the Arcola area are nothing but a good time for me. I've found out that home is where you hang your hat, as long as you can afford the hook their selling to hang it on!! LOL.
