Classic dash actually makes the part, but Autometer sells it with their gauges. I was worried as well after reading the reviews, but it's much better than I was expecting. It's got a softer vinyl coating. I was expecting hard plastic. The edge also has some trim on it to clean up the edges. I have no idea on fitment though. The gauges are from Speed Hut. I liked how I was able to customize. Also they have warning lights on some of them (like a low fuel light). I'm planning on adding some additional indicator lights for blinkers, high beams and parking brake. Here's an example below.

Be sure to provide a ground path to the headlight and wiper switches with that cluster insert.
Installed one like that for a guy a few years back.

There sure are a lot of you guys in the Seattle area. I should have kept my eye out for B-bodies when I was in Bremerton last year. The green 71 GTX-R with the viper motor was done by a shop out there I think as well. That's fantastic country, very beautiful. My sister-in-law just moved back to the east coast, so I lost my excuse to visit.

Thats a good looking dash cluster. I have Speedhut gauges in my Cuda and really like them. I would have done something similar but elected to go with the new DD cluster.

Yeah there are quite a few Mopar fans out here on the left coast but the way the terrain is you typically don't run into many despite seeing a lot on the forums. Most are more north me (I am nearer to Olympia).

I started working on the harness today. Haven't been looking forward to this part. Got a few issues identified. The MAT plug doesn't match my IAT sensor and it's a bit short. I think I'm going to have to order an adapter.

The oil pressure plug is not compatible with the sensor. Can I just skip this and wire it directly to the gauge?

There's no cable for the oil temperature sensor either.

I'm not going to be using the fuel pressure lead. What's the best way to protect the plug in case I change my mind in the future?

What harness and ECU are you using?

Not sure what to say about the MAT deal but I am sure there is a work around. As far as it being too short, I'd just lengthen the wires by cutting them in staggered fashion so that the cuts are not next to each other, then I would use a butt connector and then crimp then solder and then heat shrink the connections. Do one at a time and if you stagger them you will not have a big bulb/pile of wires to try and hide.

Depending on the ECU you are using it will need to see oil pressure I think or it will not fire. I could be wrong on this but I don't think so.

As to the oil temp, thats usually an add on deal.

Like the oil pressure, some ECU's require a fuel pressure signal.

As to the plug, the best way would to have a dummy end to clip it onto but if you don't have that I'd probably carefully tape it up with some quality electrical tape and put it where it can't get hurt.

Personally I would definitely be running a fuel pressure transducer so that I could monitor fuel pressure inside the vehicle, its kind of like an oil pressure or volt gauge, it will help you figure out when you have a problem.

I'm running a terminator x. The oil pressure is optional. I think they make an adapter for the IAT. I need the extra length anyway.

I will be going down the same road at some point so I will be watching what you do.. I am running the Terminator X as well.

I had to change the crank sensor on a 6.4 SRT 2022 engine as the plug would not fit also the MAT sensor lead is too short Terminator X max

I installed the Autometer dash in my Charger and the fit is actually pretty good. The electric speedometer was very easy to calibrate and seems to be with in 1 mph of the gps.

As suggested make sure to reinforce behind wiper and light switches and supply ground. I used ice blue led bulbs instead of the regular ones.

I got a little more on the electrical today. I got the ECU mounted in the glove box.

The cables appear to fit pretty well behind it. I also got the battery mounted in the trunk. Still have a few minor things to do, but it should work. I'm going to relocate the speaker wires so I can run my power cables through that path.

Looks good, progress is always great to help with the energy to keep plugging away and sometimes doing the not so fun parts. Keep us updated.

I'm at point where everything takes forever and my progress isn't very visible. I got my power steering hose put together and installed. Probably could have made it a hair shorter, but I didn't want it too short. Much easier to put together than the fuel hose.

A little more work done on the battery box, but it still looks the same. Tonight I decided to mount my AC controls. It looked pretty bad. I forgot to take a before picture of the clear plastic, but I polished it as well as the knobs. Fitment in the new dash insert is acceptable, but it could be better.

I've got some time off coming up so hopefully I'll make some good progress. I'm going to miss my goal of cranking the engine by the end of the year, but I'll be decently close.
