Oldsmobile had the plastic red wheel wells option (very cool).
Im thinking he just was dreaming, and quite irrational trying to do something different, Looks realy bad in my opinion. Dumb ***

The W-30 option on the 442 automatically got you the red inner wheel wells. They weren't available any other way.

1966-67 GTO had the red wheel well option too, both front and back.

And even before that, it was available on 1953 and 1954 Buick Skylark convertibles.

Didn't one of the 67-69 Barracudas have a red plastic wheel well liner option?

Well It was 1979.. and I use to see the crap all the time white engines,yellow engines, that was a car show thing I guess.

Tony Defeo’s Road Runner is all white underneath. I think he said it was an old street racer thing, maybe a regional thing? I know lots of old race cars were painted light machine grey or similar inside and underneath, maybe that’s where it came from. I couldn’t do white myself, especially in the wheel wells as they must be black. Color in the wells is akin to no blackout behind the grill, hideous. The inner workings aren’t supposed to be part of the styling, they should disappear in my opinion.

In the 80s, Guys in NW IN used to paint the rear diff/axles white too. As a teenager, I thought that was awesome.
