Seriously. I've owned it since 1982. It a 1949 Coronet, first year for the Coronet. After I blew the motor in it I installed the complete drivetrain from a 1973 Satellite. I recently chopped it 4"and installed a Dakota front frame section.

I used to have a '49 Coronet sedan. All original. Straight six engine, oil bath air cleaner, "clunk-o-matic" Gyromatic semiautomatic transmission, and that GREAT interior smell.

Never should have sold it.

That's the way mine was when I bought it. I happened to like that transmission. More than once I made it home when I probably shouldn't have tried. But I would leave in 3rd, no need to shift anymore, take the slow back roads and the old Dodge would always find it's way home. I eventually had to redo the interior but I kept those wonderful seats. It's like sitting on your grandma's sofa.

Man, I'll bet that was a difficult chop job with all of those slanted roof pillars, but it sure looks awesome.

The real weak esthetic point of 40-early 50-'s Mopars is the dowdy stock roof line. Your's turned out great. Nice work.

I just completed my first chop, and while rewarding, wow... it was a helluva a lot of work.
