Seems to be one of the better deals on the market recently. Assume that's a crate HEMI from the air cleaner. What do you guys think? See anything problematic right away? Other than the ugly red, I mean.
This kind of post needs to include at least some of the pictures, as well as some of the text from the ad.

Even HMN ad links go dead and then this thread will be useless in the future.

He's asking $69,000... that's about $20k too high IMO.

Go look at it if you're interested.

ANd "Not Mine" in the title. :poke:

I have always liked this model whereas other members especially do not.

CONS (because of high asking price):
1) Column shift automatic and a console automatic is marginally better. Ergo, it isn't a 4 speed.
2) It doesn't have the original engine.
3) Shoddy restoration. For example, the underside pictures. Here's one:

4) Paint job in the engine bay looks like it's poorly done.
5) Interior work looks shoddy. Also, the simulated woodgrain dashboard pieces look odd with the clear coat.

PROS
1) Its got a HEMI
2) It's RED with black top and interior.

Pretty much exactly what I thought but I didn't catch any of the restoration issues and hate red.

Just came across this as well. Brought tears to my eyes. Do not click the link unless you want to be filled with a mix of rage and disappointment.

Abandon all hope ye who enter here:

Sure I do. You think it sucks? I prefer pessimistic evaluations.

Ok, you asked for it. The 70 Coronet had got the most hideous front end of any 66-70 B-body. The best thing to happen to that front end was when Chrysler engineers chainsawed thegrille and bumper off and grafted on the Superbird nose cone.

That all said as I do think that the only way the 70 looks good is when it’s painted black and viewed in the pitch black darkness of a cave.

Oh I thought you were going to make comments specific to the car for sale. That whole love or hate the 70 grille thing has it's own thread.

I like the 70 Bee,but the wheels make me want to vomit heavily and repeatedly!

My tolerance for the term beast, is like that for frame off resto.. or posi in a mopar lol

The trunk extensions are not fitted very well to the rear quarters.

Another 15-20 thousand invested in it and it might be a good car...

So, I'm guessing you have no plans to become the president of the '70 Coronet/Super Bee fan club or are you still thinking about it?

I never liked them either not on my radar BUT now I own one and the lines on theses cave beasts are amazing very unique and you don’t see 70 coronets that often at least where I’m from.

Leaving the debate about the '70 styling off the table, I concur with Wayne. Two years ago I sold a numbers matching Hemi car that was far nicer than this vehicle. The deal closed for just a bit more than this asking price. The level of this restoration doesn't justify the price, IMO. At 20K lower, it looks like a fairly decent driver, if that's what you're after. I've owned a few b bodies of that caliber, and they can be more fun than a higher end example. Just don't overpay.
