Another one found we will call it the Henry's Dart

I gave Henry a bath, cleaned up nice. Tried a little wax on a small section. A little brown color came off on the rag. But shined up real nice and smooth. I think that means it's an old laqaur paint job.
Any Single stage paint will transfer color to the rags while waxing... My bet is Acrylic Enamel.... Looking Good!

BTW, Why Henry's? Cause it's Really Really GOOD!! If you haven't tried it you should... Kinda hard to find, Kinda pricy when ya find it but GOOD!
Wasn't it Coors Brewing Company ?

Named for
Henry Weinhard's another of the brewing co.'s 'Dark Coors' beer fame

I think they made it,
& the 'sodas' originally in the depression era & probation era
when they couldn't brew beer "legally"

I seem to remember doing a Tour in the Gloden Co. Coors brewery
when attending the Mile High MoPar Nationals, during a signing session
I got a couple cases
good stuff

I worked at the Coors Facility, there were many stories about what was made underground during the prohibition era... And actually there are a number of beers that are still semi underground, can't buy them in your typical liquor store & certainly not at a supermarket.. If you happen to be in Golden go to the Table Mountain Inn Grille & Cantina and ask about the special Coors offerings...

Just verified #'s matching engine and trans. Couldn't get a good picture of the engine pad due to the headers. But got a decent Pic of the trans pad.

Time for an update. Dropped the tank. Have full of nasty old gas almost the same color as the car. Going to order a new tank. For some reason there was cans tied wired over the exhaust pipe from the muffler to the tips. Maybe for for sort of heat shield? Don't know never saw anything like it.

Clean primer coated metal above the gas tank.

Put a battery in it. All lights work, won't crank with key. Clutch is stuck. Jumped the starter relay and car moved foward a little. But starter engaged and motor turned. Any recommendations on getting the clutch unstuck. I read about having someone press the clutch and use a putty knife to get it unstuck. Going to try maybe tomorrow.

Get the drive wheels off the ground, axle on jack stands.... Get the engine running... Engine 2000 rpm, Clutch pedal depressed, Abruptly stab the brakes... Release then stab again... Well, assuming the brakes work...

Brakes don't work. Master is bad. Can't even push the brake pedal in. Plan is to get the engine running, then replace clutch, and do a full brake rebuild. Might have to change the order.

My dad used to put can over the pipes if there was an exhaust leak when my parents were 1st married and money was tight.

Henry rootbeer is delicious, i get it at the liquor store.

Cans over exhaust pipe holes with hose clamps to secure them, were the neighborhood exhaust repair standard.

Update:

Have not had alot of time to work on the HENRY'S Dart. Made some time today. Car would crank if the starter relay was jumped. But not with the key. Pulled the yellow wire off the starter relay and the wire fell out of the connector. Put a new connector on, and still no 12v to to starter relay. Started tracing it back. Found hidden switch under the dash. Bingo car cranks with key. One step closer to starting. Home made anti-theft device I guess.

That is a really cool car. I would have preferred the bench seat, but that's just me. Really nice car for the money. What are the plans for it?

Factory bench, original owner put the in buckets. I plan to get it running and driving, and burn the tires off of it as is. I gave it to my wife. For years she was bugging me to fix this swinger a friend gave us years ago. She love the car, but needs alot of work, and there is title issues with it.

But when I got chance to buy the Henry's Dart, in the back of my mind I knew I was going to give it to her. But not before I do a couple smokey burn outs with it.

Well after drinking a bunch of beers, while smoking a Tomahawk for dinner. Decided to throw some gas down the carb and crank it to if it will fire. No spark. So next step trouble shoot spark. Sooner or later this car will run.

I don't recall....How much was the guy asking for the car?

When I Talked to him on the phone he said 12. I assumed he was asking 12k. But when I looked over the car and offered 10k cash, he was really surprised. So now I think he was asking 12 hundred. But I would not have felt right giving him $1200. I think 10k was fair to both of us.

Oh boy....THAT was mighty respectable of you.
I agree though, I'd feel bad taking advantage of a guy that really didn't know the value....especially if he was a nice person.
Kudos to you, man!
