We had a deer come in through a garage zipper door in the plant at work one day. He was sliding around on the epoxied floor and hit a guardrail by a production line. Two millwrights on their electric cart came up on him and one grabs him and pulls him in close and they both ended up on the floor. While the millwrights were holding him down, it was going crazy trying to get away, one pulls out a knife and slits its throat. About 30 or 40 people were watching and about a dozen women were screaming. It bleed out right there in front of everyone. I saw this happen, I was behind them on my cart, it was unreal. A few hours later, I'm back at my shop and I see blood out back by my trash gondola, we look inside and there's a head and guts everywhere inside it. I called for the gondola to be pulled immediately. They used a fork truck to hoist him up and a sawzall to carve him up. That weekend we were all invited to dinner at the millwrights shop, they had a full kitchen, I built. A week later we had deer chili. While the plant manager was glad they caught him, they were asked not to repeat the events ever. The phone in HR rang for several days over it. People wanted to know what happened to the poor deer and if it was humanly removed from the premises. You talk about hillbillies!!........... Fenton Missouri, where nothing goes to waste. The stories are endless!
Nice Ford! When I was in High School in mid-'60's, there was one of these for sale on the used car lot at the local Ford dealership in Tillsonburg, Ontario. This car was Red, with triple carb 405 h.p. 406. I was already a gearhead by then, and realized I was looking at something special! We just did not have many high performance cars in our mostly agricultural community back then.
