I spent a couple hours down at the office picking & spraying weeds, blowing the driveway off, vacuuming the front hall and cutting & installing a piece of insulating foam for the upstairs office rental. I'll be glad when the place is finally sold.

It's either I have to work that Saturday or its raining when I like to go to a particular show.
Mike,you got big bucks just quit and retire. 
I couldnt get either of the guys to work today, they complain about money and say no to work.

I’ve been a M-F office detainee for over 35 years and rarely was all that happy with the routine and office politics, but it pays the bills and benefits. I have a sideline job flying which I’m passionate about, but for various reasons was never able to parlay that into a full time gig with security.
I’ve often got work Saturdays instructing, but this year sadly work has really dried up. So I’m sitting here once again on a Saturday wishing I was working!

I worked tons of weekends, nights, holidays. I missed out on alot but I think it saved me a ton of money by stopping me from building racecars. I would race my street car when I could but if I had every weekend off I know I would have built a dedicated racecar and once you're in, it never stops.

I had the same kind of schedule, and my dad told me early on I couldn't help but make out financially because I had no time to spend money. The GTXs managed to squeeze in despite the time constraints.

I worked for the USAF for 34.5 years and had a schedule where I was working on weekends, holidays, birthdays, you name it. I missed a ton of shows because of my being at work!!! I'd say that for a short time being, having to work as you say on a Saturday while missing a said show, is small potatoes compared to what you can do when you have paid your dues by working and missing a show and enjoying your retirement. Sorry, but I cannot sympathize with you on this one...cr8crshr/Bill

Oh man, had many that questioned me on how I could afford anything!!! I just said that I worked for it and to stfu if they didn't like it.
For 5 years I worked the 'weekend' shift which consisted working 8 hours on evenings Friday then 16 hours Sat and Sun and was finished until the following Friday. Loved it. Just had to make sure I got a good sleep on the prior Thursday and many times that didn't happen. Really loved being on the lake during the week when everyone else was at work when I had a boat.
Kinda wish I was still working but.....these days, nope....not at 74. I'm good with retirement until the last X decided she could do better with 'our' money by herself. I'm still doing ok but have to be more careful with what I spend now that she's gone with the cash but glad she's gone!!!!
Still do a lot of off hours work. Nature of IT, can't make major network or server changes when people are using them during the day.

I’m replacing a decent size AC compressor on the ship today. We got it in place and now I’m hooking up all the gauge lines and hot gas bypass tubing. Sunrise was beautiful this morning.

I stopped off there on my last run after I sold the Peterbilt. My Ford buddy had parts to pick up after we ditched the truck.
I never could get used to the brake/clutch pedals on a ‘Pete,(thru the floor crap). Just felt wrong.

During my early years of trucking I was lucky to be home four days per month... years later I would load on Friday leave Saturday to deliver 1000-2000 miles from home.
After 53+ years and 5 million plus miles I still work the occasional weekend and I only work part time 50-60 hour weeks... but I'm only 76.
Maybe Ill slow down when I get old
