CHRISTINE may have had Arnie Cunningham under her subliminal spell, but my '65 Dodge, long nicknamed MR.HYDE, has me wrapped up in plain sight.

Since most of you know how maniacally maddening this car project has become, it's only proper that this announcement be made here. After all, some of you, if not all of you who have been contributing or just reading the "Elephant in the Room" thread in the race section are co-conspirators. How is that? by virtue of your support in kind words, high fives, exchanged ideas, debates and rolled eye rebukes. So with that, I thank you all along with this fantastic website.

Several months ago, I got the call...........

The '65 is going to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago, Il.

Many thanks to the MCACN team for offering to display and reveal it to the world at what is unapologetically the world's premier Muscle car and Factory race car invitational.
Whereas this car mostly came out and operated in the dark years ago, now folks can see this thing up close, front and center in the lights, straight out of NYC's secret society of str==t racers.

I won't say much more other than that it's beyond exciting to be invited to this prestigious event after a few months of planning.
A lot of help and referral came from Jim Kramer over at Kramer Automotive Specialties along with late, late night calls on the HOTline with RMCHRGR here, who stood witness to the conversations coming to life on the floor at last year's event.

For those of you that are out in the midwest or elsewhere and planning to attend, drop in and say: "Hey! I know what you did last summer" LOL.
At the very least, y'all will not be disappointed by all the other super rare 4 wheel treasures taking over the entire convention floor.
That being said, this year's event is a tip off and deep SEE dive into the year 1965. It promises to be a stellar presentation to say the least in that '65 has been in the books as an unprecedented turning point for the industry.

As for the subject on the midnight skunk works at the hands of those mad factory monks? This car follows in their footsteps and may have brung it up a bunch.

Till then.

We first tried putting this announcement in this very forum for shows and events and for some reason there was no "Post thread" option on the screen. Oh well. It's here in its rightful place.

Congrats, FMJ! I hope to make it this year - I didn't make it last year.

Thank you 64Bel. Come say hey.

100th year anniversary of Dodge. 60th year anniversary for the 65's. It should be an exciting theme display of awesome cars.

Thank you 66chargerHi-PO
I hope to walk the aisle's as well to see what has been unearthed, discovered and recovered. It should be a party for sure.
Last year which was my first year, I was floored on the floor by what was in store.

I’m floored by all the cars I see in pictures and videos from this show. I hear that its the best show in the Midwest where the best of the best go.
Its hands down the best show in the nation.
I've been to many, many shows over the years, but this one is the cream of the crop in its unique way that it attracts and brings the rarest of the rarest to the floor. Each year is different from the last and allegedly not to be repeated annually, so each presentation is a rare one alone.

Ever seen an authentic 455 Oldsmobile Hemi engine developed by Dr. Watson and his surrogates along with the car it came in? Add to that a W27 aluminum rear end and 4 speed?

A real deal '69 ZL1 Camaro?

A 455 Stage #2, 4 speed GS?

An NOS magnesium Dana 60? The list is endless.

There's enough here that will rattle the senses and make you all proud to be part of a crazed and dazed era of automotive engineering. A time in history never to be seen again in its rawness and boldness.

My car, though not rare at all in the common sense is arguably ONE OF NONE..........Why? NONE like it!
What's rare about it is how I've approached it as an art piece in its own right and with that I won't give away the ending.

By the way, RMCHRGR here is an excellent visual documentarian of the floors activities. I'm sure we will come back with enough to show, but nothing comes close to being there hearing it, feeling it, and all being healed by it.

It will be a great show this year for Mopars. As many know, the red carpet display when you first enter the hall rotates among the big 3. Last year was GTOs for example. Mopar is up this year, and the red carpet display will feature B body hemi convertibles!
The 2015 show stands out from all the years of MCACN as that was the year with the E body hemi convertible feature, which had close to 30 of them on display.
So will 2025 rival that remarkable year with the B body hemi convertible feature? Don’t miss the show in November to find out!

The HEMI display should definitely be interesting. I saw a facebook post from a year ago about a possible C-body display this year?

November is a great time. Beside the fact that Winter is just settling in for the Holidays at that point and a show like this gives you the spring board excitement to get you through those grueling colder months, not mentioning the inspiration it gives you to put some dedication into your project sitting in the garage.
Trust me fellas and Gals, even if my own car wasn't part of this years event or any other year for that matter, I'd still be vouching for everyone to attend. It's a Gem of an event you can't circumvent.

A friend with a 300 told me that a 300 display was proposed and people are working to recruit cars for it, but I thought I’d later heard it’s delayed until the 2026 MCACN.

Thanks for the posts, FMJ. Got me motivated and I made a hotel reservation this morning.

For those who haven't been before, you see stuff at this show that you might never get to see anywhere else. I especially like seeing the race cars that come out. I expect we'll see some great AWB cars this year since it's the 60th anniversary of '65.

I will be in the 1965 display with my 65 dart 270. It is a awesome show. This year will be the 5th year in a row that I have had a car in the show.
