I believe that those of us who are and have been in this hobby still have them...cr8crshr/Bill

Mine will stay dual carb AND dual points as long as I can get parts

but I prefer electronic ignition over antiquated points

Even with the s-it gas we have here
especially the winter blend, a lot of ethanol content
(they lie too about how much too, s-it kills MPG in my modern EFI equipped daily driver too,
you burn 70% more fuel by % (from 5% to 20% ethanol it's a crap shoot) of it in the gas
)

I'm constantly replacing needle & seats,
far more often than days of old
crap Ethanol blended swill/gas eats rubber lines & is very corrosive to aluminum too

Stock carb & ignition on my '70 Charger.
Stock carb & ignition on my '79 300.
Stock carb & ignition on my yard equipment. :p

Wasn’t easy letting the 850 Demon go, but WOULD NOT START HOT in Reno. No choice.
Fiddling around at home in Sea Level 70 degrees and low humidity no problem. Over the Sierras and 100 degrees not so much. Lots of bragging for non-driven cars. Real efi has runners like modern cars. ProFlo 4. Others just electronic carbs.

I was thinking about these while in the shower........

or the Accel Super Coil, them big yellow 'fugly' 4''x4"x6" appr. coils
I must admit I used a few too

I did sort of gravitate to the Mallory stuff
Unilite was a big deal for a time, until I got serious

Points (dual type), carburetors, and mechanical voltage regulators for me. My brain works well with mechanical stuff. Circuit boards, sensors and diodes are just no bueno for me.

I have some cars with Mopar electronic ignitions but retain carburetors on all, and prefer points. I ran a Pertronic on the Superbird before restoration, but bought a correct NOS distributor for the restoration. It still runs like new.
