Nice event, but why does your camera take pictures in Cinemascope?

I'm not sure what cinamascope is. My Daughter took the pictures with her phone and text them to me. I just downloded them. And uploaded them

I would guess her phone is set that way. Not sure. On my phone they look normal. Maybe if I look at them on a larger format like a desk top they woul look different.

My Android phone can do that if I want it to. There's a wide angle feature for when I'm too close to the subject but need to get it all in frame.
