I had a 1953 S/Willys-Kaiser 1/2 ton 4x4 with a transplanted 283 4bbl sbc in it,
no rust, new leather bomber seat cover, granny low 4 speed, pto drive/winch,
for $500
from my older 80 y/o neighbor in Garden Valley, Ca,
I'd go over & talk with him every so often, he took pitty on me
when in HS, summer going into my freshman year, gave me a deal...
But;
it had like 5.38:1 gears, & org style military style tires & got to 60mph quick,
but needed a lot bigger tires, to drive on the hwys...

Drove it the 26 miles to school a couple times, too much gas, too many RPMs

I kept it for 4 years to use on my dad's ranch... did very well at that job...

It was freshly painted a cool blue too, True Blue, a GM color of the day 1973-ish

thanks for sparking a great memory :thumbsup:
