As predicted 6 cylinder turbos are not the future.

Didn't that leaning guy do any research before buying?? Those turds have been on the roadways for years.
I had to stop after " just about head-on" just about killed my kid" blah blah. Learn to drive first and quit illegally videoing the ford smoke coming out ffs

Research your State's lemon laws, demand your money back, and buy something sensible.

Rubber bands with hair driers don’t make good engines at least they circled the problem. I never thought Fords eco boost was great, it’s a reworked Mazda engine that debuted in the early 2000s as a 3.0 Duratec engine in the Taurus / Sable and small car 2.5 in the Contour and Mystique, it just grew.

maybe he should have bought one of those electric wamma jammas

This is the first time a fleece might be a good option if its' going to keep popping engines. At least it's on Fords dime.
And whoever thought using that motor in a full size truck was a good idea...

I hate these turbo 4s that are going into everything. My wife’s 2000 Lexus RX350 came with a 295 hp V6 that is silky-smooth, quiet and powerful and dead reliable. Love to buy another one someday but now you can only get a coarse, rough, noisy turbo 4 in it. Same with the similar Toyota Highlander and a whole host of other similar cars. And every time I read a road test on the new model they say - yeah, the turbo 4 cylinder puts out some power but it’s rough, noisy, and sounds agricultural. Can’t go there.

Government regulations/standards have driven car manufacturers to 4 cylinders. I don’t think you can get a V6 in any Toyota anymore. Even V8 luxury sedans are a thing of the past. High end European sedans all come in 6 cylinder turbo versions max. Most all base engines are 4 cylinder turbos. Same reason the new charger is 6 cylinder turbo.

Makes me recall the 6.0 diesel days... for the choke crowd. The saying is stud it and delete it.. can’t build right from the beginning not enough head bolts.

Always loved (and still love) my Mopar 2.2 and 2.5 turbos... Up to about 18psi, you don't have to change anything. Over that, swap the torque-to-yield headbolts for 11mm ARP studs and use a good MLS headgasket, and you're good for over 35psi with appropriate fuel and spark changes. Stock bottom end does just fine.

Turbos are everywhere lately.
How about an 8 sec twin turbo.
Or a stock supercharged 3.8 LaSabre with a turbo that puts out 498 WHP and 626 lbs of torque.
Or this honking single.

Is the title accurate? I thought the F150 had a turbo 6.
Anyway the post got my attention since I recently bought an eco boost Maverick and I really like it, we will see how long it lasts, but it’s one of the funnier cars I’ve had. I’ve already modded it a little but no idea what the real gains are.

At least here in Canada, the F150 EcoBoost is either a 2.7 or a 3.5 V6 engine.

I thought the same. I never heard of a turbo 4 in a F150 but maybe I just never stumbled across that. Sounds like a bad idea though.

The only thing a 4 cylinder turbo truck can do for me is, take me to one that doesn't have a 4 cylinder turbo. I really don't care for a turbo daily driver, period.

I love the 4 cylinder turbo 2.0 in my 15 Audi S3. Nearly 400hp and torque on a cranked up stock turbo. Get 32 highway MPG, still running original spark plugs. Almost 100k miles.

A neighbor down the street has a Ford pickup with what sounds like an ATV coming up the street. The first time I heard it was early one morning and made me wonder who on earth would be riding an ATV so early....
