I wonder if anyone can help...The Turn signal dash lights that blink when the turn signal is activated are very dull on my Charger and can barely be seen in sunlight which has resulted in me driving along with the turn signal still activated unbeknown to me..
Has anyone replaced the bulbs for brighter ones and is it a difficult job to do?

I suggest a “loud” turn signal flasher from your local auto parts store. They sell “loud” ones for this reason

Easy to swap the bulbs for LED. Just need a different LED type flasher. Pretty cheap to do

Incandescent bulbs themselves don’t get dimmer with time. They get dimmer with reduced voltage or due to dirty lenses.
If you replace one incandescent bulb with another, I don’t think you’re going to get the results you expect.

Before you do anything! Take a volt meter and record idle volts and at 1k rpm.

Let us know what's going on. Led lights are nice but a real pain to deal with when halogen might be enough.

Flasher’s on Amazon for $14. You need the one with a grounding pigtail for LED. You might have to reverse the wires it connects to on the harness side.

I just dive head first with my back laying on the pedals and my legs thrown up over the driver seat. Back hurts a little after but rather do that than pull anything apart.

Snake’s right though better to make sure it’s just the bulb and not a power issue.

You won’t need LED flashers if you are just changing the turn signal indicators in the dash to LED. If you start replacing exterior lights with LEDs than you will need them.

Oh that’s cool, I did all mine at the same time so I didn’t realize it didn’t affect the dash. That’s convenient and good to know

I did mine all at the same time too. Didn’t need them until I did front turn signals. Everything else works without them if I leave the incandescent bulbs in the front turn signals. As soon as put LEDs in the front turn signals nothing will flash without using the LED flashers.

I put the car in the garage at the weekend but will go and have a look at cleaning the lenses..They seem to be quite deeply recessed in the panel

Try a Q-tip dipped in alcohol.

My experience with LEDs so far:
I replaced a tail/brake light in my 64 Valiant with the suggested replacement. The wattages must have been different because I soon noticed my perfect TL lens started to deform from the heat. I replaced the single rears with red LEDs and the front with amber LEDs. Also replaced the flasher with one recommended by Daniel Stern and yes it has a separate ground and has reversible polarity. (LEDs are polarity sensitive)
With 64 Valiants being economy cars, Ma Mopar decided to have only a single indicator in the dash and that did me in as it messed up the turnsignals with only one side working. It took me awhile but I found it's a common problem with classic motorcycles solved by using a diodes in the leads going to the single indicator. There was a back feed issue causing a polarity problem I guess.

Bottom line is it's fixed, is SUPER bright and Im very happy. I'm pretty sure I used a green LED so if the lenses are faded it'll compensate. Look up the correct bulb to use in the owner manual or FSM and get the suggested LED replacement.

I'm going to go 100% LED in my 69 Charger after I fix more pressing issues. Less heat and less power to operate.
