Picked this up on FB for a great price. Not sure if its real or repro. Been painted a few times. What do you think?

someone had it on a Chevy it looks like

is it a 383 N96 version or a 440 version the 440's had a bit more drop in the base
looks clean enough

Is it an original??
Sort of looks like a 69 or 70 version Dodge Ramcharger or Plymouth Airgrabber
the re-pops (like $485 at Mancini Racing, could go to the site & compare them,
that's minus the OE style paper filter, $125 air-filter, I'd just buy a K&N instead
)
They are pretty good, the past 10-15 years, it's hard to tell
especially by just a photo

It looks original to me. That rolled edge on the lid hole looks legit to me....and the form-work on the top of the base looks correct.

If someone made that from scratch they should go into serious production. Quality looks great to me. I'd buy that one. :thumbsup:

Its funny, that decal leads me to believe its real. If a Mopar guy bought a repo one he never would have put that decal on it. On the other hand if a chevy guy found it laying around or his friend gave it to him, he might have said " maybe that will fit my motor"....who knows
