Yes, of course not the oldest but films from this era really pound that notion in (personally).

I know I can't believe it myself.
Mad Max 1979 - I was 16 when I saw it
Breakfast Club 1985 - Went to the"Mugs & Movies" here with a group of friends and pitchers of beer were $4 then.

My Wife peeled that pressure fold rock clean herself, why on earth would I covered that beauty with a maintenance issue?

It would be the same as most people do in the city. Put a new lawn and fertilize and water. Then complain that they cannot get away because of lawn work.
In 1983 we decided to build our cabin. I stated that (If I have to take a lawnmower to the lake, the cabin would be sold). I described it as acres for wildlife. Our government has a program called that.
Still have the cabin. Only thing we didn’t do ourselves was put the 12 pitch trusses up, had a dry waller do very little work, and had the cedar ceilings, walls lacquered. My wife and our friend did all of wiring on advice of our electrician friend.
I researched a year round water system. Government controlled. We had 6 original members. Once we were hooked up and installed, couple of the members immediately put in grass and continue to mow to this day. One neighbour’s family and our selves are last original owners on Pickerel Bay.
Next lake over there are some cabin owners I believe from down south, Oklahoma, Texas ?
I think the time has come to sell out. 41 good years.
