Yes, it seems like a little bit more aggressive cam than stock. I have been trying to get the specs from the family or at least the contact of the engine builder.

Soft toothbrush and spray nine, then I followed it up with Maguires rubber and vinyl conditioner. Good luck!

What's "spray nine".
My shroud doesn’t need much. But always on lookout for new techniques. You’ve done a great job with this RoadRunner!
In previous threads you mention various colors of wax. What is the advantage of that? And you could link/show the product used?

The color matched wax is great for old paint that is chipped and scratched as it helps hide the imperfections.

Yes, I have some chips and mostly fine scratches in 59 year old original gold paint. They don't offer gold. Maybe Yellow or Pearl?
I'm sure I could color sand or aggressively cut and buff. But I really don't want to remove paint. Catch 22 there.

I color sanded, a 1966 GTO with original paint, GM‘s use lacquer and it cracks. I use an electronic paint thickness tool to help me gauge how much I was sanding off I only used 2000 then 2500 grit paper. But that electronic paint thickness gauge kept me from burning through.

Made a few short road trips with the Road Runner. First one ended with something stuck in the idle circuit of the carburetor. That required me taking the carburetor apart and practically rebuilding it. Second trip little further and the dash brake light came on. Brakes seem fine still troubleshooting that problem. Third trip about 8 miles round-trip was trouble free.

I love this car every time I see a photo of it. This car represents why I loved 69 Road Runners since 1969. The way it sits on those road wheels, colour, options etc. 1969 Road Runners are one of those cars that always look good whether on fat tires, in primer with a few dents etc. but stock and original like this one is best.

I made a fire extinguisher (clean agent) mount out of a piece of aluminum L angle and some black felt. Had to weld a small tab to help hook it in place. I like not adding any holes to an original car. I also think it makes quicker access to the fire extinguisher as you can just grab the mount without disconnecting it.

Great weekend in Carlisle! Drove a 56 year-old Road Runner that’s been off the road for 40 years over 250 miles trouble free! Had an outstanding luncheon Saturday at the FBBO tent. (That was a hell of a spread and very much appreciated!)
The Road Runner was invited to a Mopar Collectors Guide photo shoot,
and the car scored a celebrity pick. (thank you, Wes Eisenschenk!)
Call me a knucklehead, but the funnest part aside from working on the car is the drive to and from the event. All the work is validated when you make it back home safely.

What a great thread, with excellent documentation - I respect & applaud the effort to maintain the originality, and the car is gorgeous.
Also, thanks to the guys that offered tips on products & such.
My pair - SPDs exactly a year apart, which I didn't plan but find amusing - are in my avatar. Y2 yellow car is a 17,000-mile original that's been pampered since new - so I didn't have to work very hard - seems almost like cheating now, haha. I've had it for a few years, after I passed the purchase interview. The original cars drive the best, like a time machine for those of us who drove them when they were new.
