Chrysler at Carlisle; Carlisle, PA.; July 10th-13th

1968 Hemi GTX with 5k miles sitting for a few decades showed up today and blew all our minds. Hasn't ran since 69. Same 'ol story, kid decided to street race for $, father took it away. Get your wallets and your 8-tracks out, cause it's got the player if you're a player.

WOW!! I cant believe how great the car looks after 50 years, its held up VERY well. That looks like the original battery too, and I love the color! Sure looks like a crowd pleaser too

The car that started the Mopar Survivors at Carlisle. 1970 'Cuda with 3,400 miles! Chrysler always painted the negative battery cable engine color 7.23 inches, never to the end. For the full story pick up the July 2005 edition of Mopar Collectors Guide.

A relatively mundane model Dart.

Rusted, crushed and pretty much nothing of value worth pulling..,,

That was the tent that was set up for all the club members.
I sure met up with a LOT of members and nobody punched me in the face.
Guess the names of these guys …..

IMG_1489.jpeg

Next up from left to right, Dennis H wearing sunglasses, in the middle, the man sporting hair you could reasonably call the “wool of the gods”….Pete… the convertible Charger man Chargervert. On the right is the Emcee/Foreman/showrunner/tent Captain Hawkrod!

Hawk, Pistol Pete and the rest of the crew worked hard in sweaty weather to provide shade, seating, great food and drinks for the club members. Thank you to you all.

Rain on the horizon. Radar Doppler on the phone showed a cell south of us…,

Only once, maybe twice have I seen rain at the big California Spring Fling show.
Oddly, it cooled down, rained for a bit, cleared and felt really nice.
Back home I hear guys saying their cars “never see water” whether it is rain or to even wash it. They do what…. Use some cleaning spray and a towel? Pffft…W I M P S !!
Most here just dealt with it. The convertibles put up the tops.
It must be common for rain to fall this time of year.

The kings of FBBO  . Well I know the guy on the left is Mark (or RC), and I know thats you in the Greg… but I’m not sure on the guy on the right of you in the picture

Sorry for the poor picture. The light was behind us so it distorted the image. To the right ( my left) is El dubb 440 the Master of metal, the Wizard of welding, the Boss of Bondo, the Prince of Paintwork also known as Mark.
