If you look at her IMDB, she hasn't gotten tons of acting jobs in recent years. Actresses don't get paid much to begin with. Cate Blanchett played Galadriel in Lord of the Rings for free. Rumor has it, actresses actually make the money they need to maintain that luxury lifestyle by prostituting themselves on the yachting circuit. Valerie is too old for that. I wouldn't be surprised if she did it when she was young. I bet 90% of them did it when they were hot, and that is the real reason why there's so much nudity in film, music videos (they're practically strip shows now), fashion shows where the models don't have clothes on - they're advertising the goods.

Just checked to see if she has a husband - nope. Divorced hubby #2 in 2022. 3 years later, alimony payments ending?

I wouldn't be surprised if she can't afford the luxury lifestyle anymore, and is in the early stages of dementia on top of that.

If you're a creative/entertainment type, it's part of the job now. Especially if you're doing crowdfunding, the fan base wants to know who they're giving their money too. So you end up being a one-person reality tv show, and the less pretty parts of your life get out there, and other "influencers" run with it because they need content too.

Shame on me for assuming she was financially well off when I reacted to an earlier post. No question actresses deal with a limited shelf life, physical looks are short lived human capital. Many don't manage earnings during their prime years effectively. Saw the same process in my law school class. Most folks think lawyers make a ton of money. A tiny percentage do. Two guys in my class of 160 (1983) managed seven figures a year. Most struggled to make median annual wage.

Many of the six figure guys got into trouble with drugs, booze, and women. Not hard to predict, watching their conduct as students. I made it to the finish line in one piece by not overplaying my hand, and having reasonable expectations. That outlook goes against the grain of the make believe world of Hollywood.

I've had my troubles with "mean girls" in the past, but I have sympathy for the fact that they peak too early in life, and many/most blow it long before they have the chance to become wise. They're fed a steady diet of mind-**** through their early teens and have no idea that the most valuable thing they could ever trade their youth and beauty for is a good man who will give them children while they're young. The current crop of pop-starlets are just strippers selling "I don't need a man." The people behind that message have a lot to answer for.

She got kicked off her baking show and lost her other cooking show and she’s struggling. I probably wouldn’t post it for the world to see but I’m not sure how that makes her lazy or someone who has never worked for a living? She still wants to work on hosting two TV shows (which is not easy) and has aged out. It’s pretty sad and she isn’t lying about drinking to numb pain. I know a some tough dudes that do that when things aren’t going well and they lose it after they’re good and tuned up on some booze.

I enjoyed her back in the day and my girlfriend loves her cooking shows and is pissed she got let go.

Let alone all them years she was living with Eddy Van Halen & then married to him
he foot the bills I'm pretty damn sure too, she traveled with the band
& she inherited some of his fortune "I would think"...

She is by no means poor...
 
if she's broke, which I highly doubt; that means she blew through more money than most of us make in a lifetime combined........and she could always get a job like most people who need money; oh, the horror!.........put down the bottle and go wait some tables

but what I really see is someone likely jacked up on anti-depressants, and/or Xanax (sp?) ect....... washed down with a little vodka...... and she can forget about a new boyfriend with that going on

I feel sorry for her cats
 
Emh. i have seen worse and wierder stuff then that.
If she is feeling broke, it is because she is used to living in CA with CA prices and home costs.
If she is worth 20 million dollars she could have moved to WI and retired at age 19.

I can't fathom having a million dollars, much less 20. Hell I can;t fathom having 100k. Or 50k. Flyover country makes all the food, and all the stuff. But we sure don;t make any of the money.
So no I do not feel bad for her. Being a millionaire for most of your life puts you in a place midwesterners only read about.

I don’t get posting so much on the socials, I’ve done it and will do more, but some people just put everything out there for different reasons but I’m too private for that. Whatever her issues are I wish her the best, I met her when I was a little kid and she was in HS I guess, but already on TV and she was very nice to me. So I think of that when she pops up.
Mackenzie Philips was there too and also nice, me being a little kid with no tact but at least having the sense to wait until I was out of earshot had to ask my sister why the both of them were soooooo pale. Like the whitest I ever saw in real life up to that point. It’s not racial, I’m a white guy, we came to the conclusion that they are always in the studio and not getting sun.
