I have a 1970 charger RT with a 440 along with a Holly RPM intake. Wanting to get some ideas about an air cleaner that will fit without hitting the hood. I kind of like that six pack air cleaner look and was wondering if anybody might have some information About where to investigate getting that style of air cleaner for a four barrel carburetor. Also, does anybody know if using that type of air cleaner would have the clearance that’s needed for the hood to close without hitting the air cleaner itself. Thank you in advance for any information possible and/or pictures.

What dfrazz said. Most of the drop base units are configured to fit the Holley's with the center hung float bowls. On my 67 wagon, I'm running the same setup[ carb and manifold] as you. Using the MP filter unit that came with the car, which has the drop base for Holley. Clears the hood, but of course my car is different than yours. Others can verify.

There are some sixpack-style aircleaners for 4 bbl's for air grabber style hoods.
Couple problems tho. They are immensely expensive, and they won't fit with your intake.
You're probably gonna have to settle for a drop base, as mentioned above. You MAY be able to put a Mopar unsilenced lid on I'd to appear a bit more stock, if that's what you wish.
I got a nice drop base a/c with k&n style element as part of a carb kit from Speedway. I'm sure they sell them seperate, as do Jegs and Summit.

Mancini Racing sells a nice drop base for a 440 or 383's even
for a single 4bbl
n96 Ramcharger/Airgrabber big oval air-cleaner & drop base

Fresh-Air set up is like $485, no filter
get a 2" K&N gauze type filter
or maybe a 1-1/2", it still will flow more air than the OE paper filter would
I think the 2" will still fit under the hood
they ain't cheap, but they look right

the factory six pack style paper elements are like $128 now, a waste

this below is one for a 383, n96 fresh air Airgrabber
the 440 drop base n96 style has a bit more drop to it (like 3/4" don't quote me)
because of the tall/raised block, they were used in a bunch of B-bodies
