I have what came out of a 1970 GTX 440-4 speed car. Just want to verify that it is what was supposed to be in the car. This column had a universal joint modification. I removed that because I needed the bottom half of the U-Joint. I dont have the key but can get the key for it.

did you get an answer on the column? I can take pics of my 70 tomorrow for you if need to.

I have a 70 4-speed column here and can take whatever pictures you need as well.

Yea I guess pictures would help. I had the wood steering wheel too. It was not a mopar wheel but was nice.

Took a couple pictures of my 70 4-speed column. Your collar looks correct for a 70. Was the only year with the key in the collar without the "Press to release key" lever that started in 71. 70 used a reverse lockout which required the manual trans to be in reverse in order to remove the key. All that appears to be missing on yours.

Just what i needed to know. Thanks. One thing is the pivot point on the shaft what does it connect to in a 4 speed car?

are we running that wheel in the pumpkin? :D

Oh ok thanks for that I was looking at the service manual just a few minutes ago. But didnt get to that page I guess that was in the transmission section and not the steering section.
So that lever is missing on this column. I wonder how big of a deal that is. The car it came out of was a 70 GTX that was converted to a 5 speed TKO so I guess they deleted that lever.

It is in the transmission section page 21-69 in my Dodge manual.

Honestly this Column is nothing I need and may end up being sold or traded. I have no need for a 70 only column. It will need work to make it correct I guess. I put a flaming river tilt in the car for the guy.
