My least favorite thing about classic cars is...

Likes;
Favorite things are sounds & smells nothing like it
& then appearances, style
There's nothing like a 68 Barracuda Formula S Fastback, 68 RR or 68 Charger R/T today...
They're mostly easy to work on, especially BB Mopars...

dislikes,
fuels today aren't made for them
carbs & tanks or rubber etc. is eaten' up by the crap fuel/ethanol-alcohol content does them in
I've been replacing 3 needle & seats a year now, seems like it's the norm
quality parts too, not some cheap junk

disclaimer, some are offensive or offended, they won't like what I said;
*what I hate, least favorite things NOW
The hobby has become, in a way I don't like
'people' who agree to buy something, that stall you, I'll have the $$ :blah:
& some BS sob story, sick or wife etc. & then back out, with no good reasons,
when it could've been sold or gone to another person,
but you agreed to hold it, fro the person that backed out after weeks/months...
Then you see they bought it elsewhere, for way more, ok no big deal...
'that pisses me off sometimes', I was trying to be the nice guy
*Or extortion pricing, even for people that can easily afford it,
shouldn't support them
*the flippers & gougers, screwing over the hobby
rusty old worn out parts (some not even cleaned before listed)
worth their weight in gold, it's nuts, completely f-en' NUTS
They (flippers & gougers) want to get a deal on anything/everything lowball you,
so cheap they squeak, cry you a river/sob story about being broke :jackoff: lie
or about prices, when walking, *cheapskates...
*But then, if they are successful, in getting them from you
(I will rarely sell to someone like that, if I get that vibe at all, I will warn everyone)
then they resale the stuff for extortion $$$, 3-10 times what they will pay...
Then they think that,
*Thier parts are worth 'gold' prices & yours *the later sell for gold*,
are with 'rust' prices...
Even if there's nothing wrong with them,
I can afford it but it's goes against everything I stand for, to support that or any of them
but "normally" won't fall for any of it...
You can tell the legit guys easily...
*We have a couple in the classifieds constantly (You'll know who I speak of)
I see it every day I log in, 1st page its full of them
& it's not right, it's going to help kill the hobby,
running an under the table parts business, hiding funds, or income
(some very lucrative by what it brings) off FBBO's members & the owners generosity...
They should be paying advertising here at a min., or if it's a business taxes of their profits too
if they are running it like a business, like a few are...

:BangHead: sorry for the rant

It's all about the $$$ way too often...
That's a shame, should be about the love of the hobby/cars...

I've given away more parts than I've ever sold, because the person needed it
not because of finances, if they paid the shipping, if I wasn't using the stuff...
Why not... Sometimes it's help a newcomer, a young buck, like the older guys did for me,
decades ago, paying it forward...

Used this extensively on new and existing tires when I had my rides. Works like a champ...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

I did, too, until they changed the formula and it didn't work anymore.

That's just as bad...chrome has pores which draw in moisture...and your hands are covered in acidic moisture.
And why nearly every car on this site has chrome door handles?
I just sold a 55 Caddy that had so much original chrome on a Fla car that was nearly perfect chrome in most cases that far outlasted the paint.
Nothing lasts forever, just some longer than others. I suspect however on this topic paint has greatly improved (acrylics & urethanes vs Lacquers, etc) and chrome has backtracked (EPA, etc), relative to the say 60's.

Storing them for the Winter season, which is Longer than the Driving season...
Out here it's not so long, but we deal with other issues...
well normally, the past few years it's been long winters, wet & snowy...

My least favorite thing about having a classic car is having to share the road with all the bozos out there.

1) What I like the least is the very high selling prices for the classic & desirable cars I want.

2) I have no dislike for the classics I already own whether they are desirable or not.

The terrible quality of repopped parts today. And the high cost of this junk they sell.

...who are looking at their ph while headed at me on a 2 lane highway just 3ft away at 60 MPH, ..and mine has no airbag.

I had to yank for the ditch last fall where someone was passing over a hill and I saw his/her rooftop was already parallel to the roof top in the other lane! I saw that and reacted because I was in a head-on back in ~2017 because of someone fooling with a ph. but I had an airbag then and come out without a scratch.

There is some truth. I drive to work in daily Cadillac. With little worries. I had to drive my classic for a week while both daily and Truck were down in rush hour traffic. Ran off the road twice. Hit in parking lot. On a car that's louder and more chrome noticeable than either my daily.

I think Murphy and his freaking laws don't like classic cars!
