What is this part and where is it installed on a 1968 Dodge Charger? Thanks!

I'm probably wrong but it looks a lot like a power steering bracket for a early to mid 70's Ford.....

If it's for the Charger it'll probably be for the headlights...

Its not the grill of a 68-9 Charger. I never seen this on a 68-9 Dodge Charger Bob Horman

Well.... Two of the top Charger guys say it's not for the headlights... And didn't offer another option... So I'm going with P/S bracket for a Ford.... Or a paper weight...

almost looks like something from a convertible top frame but if you only have one then no idea

Recently took a 68 Charger completely apart, did not see one of those but I agree it looks like a power steering pump mount/adapter

I don't remember seeing that piece when I had my Chargers blown apart.

Not the same one but Ford had a lot of variations for different engines but it shows the similarity of the construction methods..

The pictured part looks like GM number 3997796 - Front mounting bracket for an A6 air conditioning compressor for a 1970s small block Chevrolet engine.
