I marvel at that all the time, the video chat they had seemed super cool when I was little, now I use it almost daily and don’t think twice.

I argue the internet existed long before we had access to it....... they had to figure out how to control it first

A form of it did from what I understand, and I used primitive precursors to it as early as the 80s. All dial up based with other computers calling each other to update info.
