Hi FBBO,
I want to completely restore my alternator. I plan to disassemble it and media blast the housing. For those who have done this before, did you paint the housing or what did you do to protect it?

Leave as is, or you can use Seymour "Alumi-Blast" PN#16-055 paint.
 
If you have a pulley puller they usually come right off. Over here you can get one from the auto parts store as a loaner usually. One like this can be had on Amzon for $17 US.

I have exactly this one (cheap and bad qualitiy I guess). I tried it one time and it works but it needed two people and muscles. :lol:
