John Cope announced he has a big block 518. No adapters required, all new case for big block.

The guy can figure out a transmission but isn't smart enough to rotate his phone SIDEWAYS to get the entire transmission in the shot.
How can all you people be so friggin stupid and lazy?

Guy develops a brand new answer for a Mopar OD transmission, and somehow the main focus is camera angle.
:luvplace:

Hold on there, a smart man knows the rules, wise man knows when to break them.
I am not real excited about watching future horizontally framed videos of the Statue of Liberty, rocket launches, or Swimsuit contests.
The problem is the lack of smart men is my thinking.

Yeah, there are instances where the portrait mode is best. Your examples are acceptable.
Just about every other time, widescreen rules. I see dudes recording vertical video at car shows and their videos look like crap.

Your point is rather valid.
Reminds me of the driver that races up to a red light, they just can't see the big picture.
My pet peeve, is in still photos of people standing in a pose, and the clueless photographer chops off their feet in the photo.

I'm not excited by people's feet, but good for you for 'fessing up to your own personal kink, man.

If CRT actually prices this within reach, that would be fantastic. A fully bolt in unit that needs no adapters? Hell yeah!

He didn't create anything new, others doing it for 20yrs. I'm all for more options for us tho

These guys have been doing it ~20yrs 518 and a500
I have their a500 in my fury behind my turbocharged 383

Last time I checked, they wanted $2500 just to weld a 727 bellhousing onto a 518 case. They did supply a convertor, which was probably a reman unit from the parts warehouse. Add in buying a used 727 for the case, shipping back and forth, you're at $3000.

At the end of the day, you still have an old, used, weak transmission case. If Cope prices that SFI 518 the same as his other SFI case/bellhousings, which is $2200, it's a no-brainer which way to go.

Yeah people have been chop sawing bellhousings off forever.. this is a radical departure from that.

Can't really count shipping, but I didn't pay that much for mine installed if I remember correctly and it's lived behind my turbocharged 383. I have had mine a long time tho, prices change.
I will say Tim and his son are great people and club supporters and not difficult to deal with...

Im a little confused. Is this a brand new case with a SFI bell? Ive not seen an a518 with a case like that.

I disagree I perfer up and down. If viewing on my phone.
Turn the phone sideways and get a better viewing experience. Pictures and video that are vertical are inferior.
It’s like looking through a narrow doorway. If it were better, movie screens, Tv screens and computer monitors would have been made that way.
Some tech dipshit defaults to portrait mode and millions of people just go along with it.
