62 Fury wagon gear ratio ?

Looks like 3.23 to 1 is most likely, without getting under there to confirm.

Here's all the possibilities;

In the preceding table, your Fury Suburban wagon is considered SP2, same as the Fury 2 & 4 doors.

My 64 wagon 318 auto came with a 2.76 Sure-Grip, so I would guess anything is possible.

The table above is from the '62 parts book. I did'nt look at the '64's.

I think that first table I put up in post #2 is the standard, but only for the police and taxi packages.... not sure how to tell for sure what a normal passenger car, or wagon would have had without actually checking the gear ratio (assuming still original parts).

Thanks guys.
To clarify the tables a little bit; the ratios shown with 1-3/8" pinions are going to be in 741 carriers (the last three digits of your pumpkin casting #). The ratios shown for 1-3/4" pinions are going to be in 742 carriers. You can see which is used easy enough by looking at the drivers side of the pumpkin itself. And of course, a small ratio tag may be present on one of the carrier bolts at the housing as well.
