Chrysler at Carlisle; Carlisle, PA.; July 10th-13th

This was my first time bringing a car to Carlisle and meeting you guys. I want to Thank Hawk & the Mrs. , Barry , Pete and anyone else involved for an absolutely delicious luncheon. The food was second to none. I didn't get a lot of names but had a really great time talking and meeting new friends. I even won a couple nice raffles (Hemi book and a torsion bar removal tool) then to top it off Won 1st place in the 70-71 E-body modified class!! You may not have noticed me there but my step-son is hard to miss (6' 10")

Ever see a Midnight Express

He built an awesome truck

Thanks as always to Hawk & the gang for a wonderful lunch gathering on Saturday! Shortly after I was pleasantly surprised by the fellas at NorthEast Mopar Club as their Celebrity Choice Pick. Surprised again while picking up the Celebrity Choice plaque on Sunday with a First in Class! That's the first time even placing in the top 3 at Carlisle.

Let's face it Columbus is an absolute s#itshow if you've ever been to Carlisle. I will only go for the day since it's only a 3-1/2 hour drive BUT I won't take a car and waste my time. You don't see the organization by class like Carlisle. The ONLY thing they have going for them is there's MOPARS THERE.

I just saw these, thank you very much for taking the time to post them! You even got a picture of my friends now former brown ‘71 Fury wagon. He used to live in CT but will now be moving to Florida
You're welcome. I did like that wagon.

I see Don Frelier added some photos from exhibit across the street which I didn't go see.

I was at Columbus in 2004....

I was curious though.
In Columbus in 2004, they had a dedicated section where NEW parts vendors were set up. The big show in California (Spring Fling) also does this.
I did not see that sort of thing in Carlisle. I did see a couple of new parts vendors in tents but not to the same level as I've seen elsewhere. I admit that I only walked maybe 40% of the swap meet so did I miss it? I'm going to scan through this thread to see if there is a map posted showing the layout of the show.

I'm still looking but have yet to find a map. The website for Carlisle has changed to reflect the next year's show.

They are not separated out. Cbus is not anymore either. I personally hate that set up. I want to be able to look through all the new stuff before spending hours walking through all the used venders and their cluttered disorganized chaos of a vendor spot. Some are very organized and it's easy to see what they have. Just my opinion.

I personally don't mind the way it is. I've never even thought that it could be an issue for some people. Suppose if you go enough years in a row you get to know where everyone is. Some vendors have been in the same spots for decades. There's a "Manufacturer's Midway" but those spots are more of a trade show type set up. Mancini's is usually at the end of that row.

That said, it likely isn't feasible to confine specific vendors into one area. The show is too big and established to have to maneuver everyone around every year. It would also be counterproductive to sales for the individual vendors if everyone around them has the same or similar stuff. Would you spend X amount at one then go into the next one and do the same?

I've never been to the Nats so I can't comment on it but I've been to Spring Fling a few times. I don't think it's worth comparing that swap meet layout to Carlisle precisely because the scale is so different. The space allotted to the swap meet at Woodley Park probably doesn't even amount to the area of one row at Carlisle.
