Personally with a automatic and my 383 I like mine and it’s been on the car since 1990 with only little maintance ( rebuild kit )

It's fine either way. The one on my wagon, 3310-2, is with a plate. No block. The block does make it easier for jet changes.

I'd use the block and throw in some 82s . You'll need the longer fuel line. And longer screws

IMO.....the best variation of the Holley model 4150 R-3310 is the R3310-1. it was rated at 780 CFM. It has secondary downleg booster venturi with 1 3/4" throttle bores AND had the universal linkage setup for GM, FORD and Mopar. It was a dual inlet fuel bowls and HOT AIR CHOKE SYSTEM that could be changed to electric heated choke coil OR totally convertible to manual cable controlled. It has secondary metering block with a secondary power valve system provisions (to use or not). EXTREMELY VERSATILE and not to be confused with the other variations.....the -2 and -3 variations which have a 750 CFM rating. The other variations are of the 4160 design with secondary metering plates...AND ARE not the same carb. I used the Holley 4150 R3310-1 for years on a 1971 Dodge 500, WP23U1****** with a TF727B, 8 3/4" SG @ 3.55:1 rear. Great carb.....too bad they're not available new.....just my opinion of course......
BOB RENTON

I would only use the block if it was designed for THAT model. The MABs, emulsion hole sizes & positions are specific to the carb, as well as the IFR & IAB.

Leave it as is & run it. I’ve had very good experience with that exact carburetor

The 3310-1 does have downleg secondary boosters, but has 1 11/16” throttle bores.
