Looking for recommendations on a distributor and Ignition system for a 1968 Dodge cornet with the 318.

HEI. You could run it with points. HEI 4 pin modules are less than $20.

X 2 on the Pertronix set.
Also if your distributor has worn out the bushings you can exchange it for a recon at most auto parts stores if your not stuck on numbers or rebuild yours and then add the pertronix.

Why change from factory MOPAR points and condenser system which is all you need for a stock 318 engine....
