I hope it's a nice day everywhere to be working on our cars! It is in Florida, even tho it's 90! My question....like so many of us that have committed to new harnesses in our 50+ year old cars, I have done the same. I bought M&H harnesses and the front, rear and engine harnesses are in. My problem with my dash harness is the routing and use of the behind dash bundle clamps. Yeh, I know ...where's the pic I took when I pulled the original out? Well, that was 23 years ago and it sat for 20, stripped down. Now that I'm putting it all back together with the resto I've done, I can't remember how it actually lays out under the dash so it won't interfere with the wiper linkage, the vent cables, speaker wires, etc. Does some have or can take a pic of how the main bundle is configured back there?

Dont know if this helps 70 charger

Thanks DaveK. I would imagine they're pretty close and since you have the same car.I do, (Bee)I was hoping you'd chime in. Let me zoom and see. I already plugged in the bulkhead connector and am working my way from there. I think I have most everything built.out on the dash so I'll hang it on the bolts and work from there...

My 70 Bee I did with the dash in. If its a new M&T harness you Will have extra plugs.

Thank you guys. I'm pretty sure between BD and Dave, I'll be able to manage. It is a new M &H and I do also have the classic wiring color schematic to use. Good thing they are matching color coded on the new harness. I'm gonna hang the dash assembly on the bolts tomorrow.and start connecting. Take my time and see what happens!

Soooooo, the easy part is basically done. Naturally I have some wires I can't account for and for sure some are a/c based. The wires giving me the most problem are:
1) The connection for the map light
2) The heater resistor...I have the typical 3 prong spades and the single spade on the resistor itself. Which spade gets the green wire from the blower motor? I don't seem to have any connector on the old harness or the new, to plug anything into the 3 spades on the resistor. I also have nothing on the fan/defrost control but plastic slide tabs. There's nothing else trical there at all. How is the L/M/H speeds for the fan governed?
3) The connection for the ash tray light and cig lighter?
Does anyone (Dave) have readily viewable access on their dashes to see?

There's alot going on there. For the glovebox, map light, ash tray and ignition light, there are one or two sub harnesses that plug into the door switch wire, the yellow one. There is a timer in the ign light. That spade for the heater comes from the heater motor switch. That green wire go the the fan motor and there is also a ground wire to the motor. Sorry that I do not remember if there are one or two harnesses for the lights, it's been over a year ago since I did mine. The harness was just wrapped up in the old wiring that I replaced with new M&H harness dash harness, so I just had to figure it out. Car hasn't driven yet, but all of that harness is now covered up, would be difficult to get a picture.
